FIX AUTO HARLOW’S MAJOR INVESTMENT REAPS IMMEDIATE REWARDS WITH SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN PRODUCTIVITY

Fix Auto Harlow has all but completed a major programme of investment, which has instantly reaped rewards with an immediate 40 per cent increase in productivity and owners Tony Mann and Stuart Berryman firmly believe that improvement will be further increased once their latest recruitment initiative is complete.

The duo have maintained a continual growth since joining the network as a single unit entity in 2017.

Within the first year of joining Fix Auto UK they leased a nearby unit which effectively doubled their 3,600 sq ft proposition. However, the latest investment has secured a vacant 5,000sq ft unit sandwiched between their original and secondary buildings, instantly tripling their original bodyshop footprint.

Crucially, the move which also includes installing a secondary spray booth, has dramatically improved workflow. Within four weeks since gaining the keys to the new building, they have increased productivity to beyond 110 vehicles a month, a significant step towards the goal of surpassing 150 vehicles a month by the end of the year.

“Continuing to expand and develop our company has always been part of our business plan,” said Tony, “within months of joining the network we realised the need to react and so we took over a nearby unit but, while it served a purpose, there was always a missing link…and that was the building sandwiched between our main and secondary workshops.

“An opportunity arose in March whereby we discovered the previous tenant was moving out and so we jumped at the chance. It has been an expensive exercise and one that wasn’t planned for 2023 but it has instantly revolutionised the whole operation with a greatly improved workflow.”

Tony added: “We now have the room and the processes in place which will enable us to further increase our team. Once that is complete, our goal is to repair up to 150 vehicle a month.”
